Bogong High PlainsAn Alpine area near Bright in Victoria. A major feature is Mt Bogong (1986m), Victoria's highest mountain. The walk we did was 5 days, starting at Bogong Village and then Bogong Jacks Hut, Tawonga Huts, Cope Hut, Ropers Hut (no longer exists), Little River, Cleve Cole Hut, Mt Bogong, Bogong Creek Saddle, Mt Arthur and Mt Little Arthur, Bogong Village. There are better ways down than the two Arthurs. Much of this area can be accessed as daywalks from Falls Creek. A good book is Bushwalking and Touring in the Bogong High Plains Alpine National Park by John Siseman and John Brownlie (Envirobook, 1994)Return to Main Index All images Copyright Ken Beath and may not be used without permission. |
